Sensei Background

The following Sensei's instruct the morning classes.  A brief description of training and experience is included below.  We also have guest sensei's attend and teach their unique skills.

   

 

Tim Piering – Head Instructor   

Work - Technical Director and Manager of Engineering Systems at Parsons Corporation in Pasadena.
Martial Arts - Forty years of martial arts training.  Black belts in Judo, Karate (Korean & Okinawan), and Aikido.   Lived and trained in Okinawa.  Numerous competition awards including All-Marine Judo Champion.

Andy Leeka – Sensei

Work - CEO and President of Good Samaritan Hospital.
Martial Arts - Fifteen years of training in judo and karate with a 3rd degree black belt in Gosoku-Ryu Karate.  Andy’s wife and two sons also hold black belts in karate.  Leeka in Action

 

Rich Kilbury – Sensei

Work - Owner of Steer and Ale Restaurant in Pasadena.
Martial Arts - 17 years of training in judo and karate with a black belt in Gosoku-Ryu karate. Rich's daughter Kelsy holds a brown belt in karate. Kilbury in Action

 

 

Robert Stadd – Sensei

Work - Top movie industry producer and special effects coordinator. 
Martial Arts - Over 30 years of training with 3rd degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and black belt in Aikido.  Robert also trains and instructs students in boxing. Stadd in Action

 

Steven Barnes - Sensei

Work - Novelist and television writer with twenty novels and over two million words in print.
Martial Arts  - Thirty years of martial arts training.  Black Belts in Kempo Karate and Kodokan Judo.  Has studied and taught Tai Chi for twenty years. Ten years of study in Indonesian Pentjak Silat Serak.  Steve is also a trained Yoga instructor. Barnes in Action
